The Annual Video Forum Show has grown into a multi-legend event; comprising exhibits, seminars, workshops, features. It is a ‘rounded’ event, leading the way in the UK. It continues to innovate, move forward embracing all the new technologies used in the film and television industries.
The Stands at The Video Forum Show include; The latest in Cameras ( including the steadi-cam); lighting; high definition and digital equipment, fibre-optic cabling; post-production; and professional development (i.e. training providers including colleges both in London and the provinces) A London college represented at the show was Ravensbourne which has many media course on offer:
The show is held in a comfortable spacious building; The Business Design Centre, Islington , London and attracts many visitors, over a 3 day period.

One of the main global issues today, affecting modern film and television programme making is that of High Definition.
By the end of 2005, 13.888 million households worldwide have already been equipped with HD sets and more than a thousand stations are transmitting HD content today. Europe is alsofollowingsuit with broadcasters such as Euro 1080, Premiere, Proseibensat.1. , BskyB, Sky Italia, Canal+ and TPS either on-air, trailing services orgetting ready to launch a range of offerings.
It’s no surprise that this surge in activity has driven an unprecedented demand for High Definition content to fill these new broadcast channels.
One of the features of this particular Video Forum Show was promotional plasma, video advertising has grown, in the future we will see the growth in new areas such as fashion stores; hairdresser’s; supermarkets; surgeries are now relatively commonplace.
This is an eye-catching and direct medium. Advericom is one such advertising company, Interactive plasma screens will probably in 5 years replace the static poster, this certainly an exciting innovation.
